Admissions at Ormiston Latimer Academy

Ormiston Latimer Academy provides education programmes on behalf of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) for children and young people who are unable to attend mainstream school for a range of reasons, in line with DfE guidance and government requirements.

We are responsible for:

  • Pupils who have been permanently excluded from school
  • Supporting children and young people at risk of exclusion, including those referred for a managed move
  • Delivering individual pupil programmes commissioned by the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Section, including placements at the Kensington and Chelsea Education Centre (KCEC)

How to refer:

To make a referral for a managed move or a short-term placement at KCEC, please complete the referral form available at the link below:

Please note: Please note that before making a referral to Latimer/ Beachcroft, schools are required to contact the principal to discuss a potential placement. Where the pupil is an RBKC/Westminster resident, they must then complete a Reasonable Enquiry Check (REC) with the local authority. Referrals will only be considered once the REC process has been completed and relevant documentation has been provided. This ensures that all local authority procedures have been followed and that the referral is appropriate for the student’s needs.

“Pupils join the school at different points throughout the year. Leaders quickly assess any gaps in learning, and small class sizes allow staff to tailor lessons to each pupil’s individual needs.”
