Ormiston Latimer Academy is in the inner London Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea. It is the smallest borough in London and the second smallest district in England. The borough is immediately west of the City of Westminster and east of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Made up of only 18 Wards it includes well know districts such as Earls Court, Holland Park, and Notting Hill. Although considered a wealthy borough there are pockets of high deprivation particularly in the northern end of the borough.
The Academy is commissioned to support the 6 borough schools including learners who have moved into the borough and are without a school place. Largely serving the RBKC community we work closely with out bi-borough neighbour Westminster and local authorities from further afield including Hammersmith & Fulham, Wandsworth, Brent, and Hounslow.
We value the partnerships we have made with local schools, statutory and voluntary sector agencies with an understanding that we need to work closely with partners to provide the maximum support, educational and development opportunities for our learners. We pride ourselves on the relationships we have developed with those statutory partners such as voluntary sectors and the Targeted Prevention Team. Voluntary sectors partners include: EFHE Mind, the Harrow Club, St Giles Trust, Macbeth Adult Education Centre, the Construction Youth Trust, the Royal Albert Hall and the St Clement James Centre.
Most importantly as part of our community we recognise and acknowledge the need to work in partnership with parents, carers, and families. We continually endeavour to create and foster relationships that young people can module and emulate working in a spirit of harmony and collaboration. Our aim is to continually demonstrate to our learners that it is a collective effort of which they are also part to ensure they achieve their optimum whilst a part of our school and beyond.
