Working With Us

Contact us if you wish to join our community

There is no better time to join us at Ormiston Latimer Academy.  The school is now settled after going through a turbulent journey over the last five years. Previously as part of the Tri-Borough provision and the relationship between Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster and Hammersmith & Fulham the school formed part of the initiative to support Hammersmith & Fulham learners who were decanted from their home site as plans progressed to complete building improvements to that site.

On the return of learners to their home school in 2019, the Ormiston Latimer Academy went through its own period of modernisation with a spate of Capital building works to improve the internal and external fabric of the building.  These caused significant delays to the reopening of the school in 2020 and learners were subject to periods of online learning.  As the global community got to grips with the impact of Covid-19 there was again periods of change for the staff and learners including more online learning and a change of Academy sponsor which released the school from stifling financial constraints.

We were pleased to announce that following this period, we were subject to Ofsted inspection in November 2021 were under the new leadership the school managed to maintain its Ofsted rating as a “good” school, which served as validation and testament to the hard work and resilience of the leadership, staff and learners generally.

The school is now in a phase where we can focus fully on delivering the quality of teaching and learning that these learners deserve. With a renewed vision, mission and values statement aligned to that of our new sponsors we have set about developing a school were the curriculum offer is fit for purpose and the culture geared to developing and enhancing the lives of those who attend.

What’s the best thing about working for OAT? That’s easy. The people. Whether it’s our pupils who are diverse and full of character, or our staff who are committed, full of energy, and driven by the purpose of our work. Our people are amazing; we value them and we take care of them.

Staff are clear on their pursuit of excellence and high expectation regardless of learner background or at what stage of their educational journey they may join us.  We work closely with partner agencies and continually seek to secure home school liaisons with parents, cares and families that exemplify strong community relations.

Staff work closely together to foster and serve an atmosphere of trust and support and are consistently willing to go the extra mile in support of colleagues.

Ofsted have observed that: “Staff and pupils eat lunch together, having conversations and developing pupils’ social skills. Staff also take time to join in with games of football, table tennis and basketball during break times. This helps to strengthen relationships between staff and pupils” Ofsted 2021

Play a significant role in the development of the Ormiston Latimer Academy

Joining the Academy, all members of staff have access to staff development and the opportunity to shape the future of the academy. We expect nothing short of excellence from all our staff, in return, we offer a fantastic place to work and make a difference. We are united towards our core purpose.

All our staff have the opportunity to:

  •      Develop skills and experience in a nurturing and supportive environment
  • Partake in a comprehensive CPD programme as part of the Ormiston Academies Trust

Currently we are developing a new aspect of the school offer which will cater exclusively for learners with EHCPs and more profound ASD/SEMH and sensory needs.  This is an exciting time as we develop our offer in support of learners with SEMH/SEND in alternative provisions and in supporting the local LA SEND inclusion plan.
